The basics

What is Varithena Foam?

Varithena is a 1% polidocanol injectable foam. It is approved to treat leaking great saphenous veins, accessory saphenous veins and visible varicose veins of the great saphenous system, above and below the knee. It improves both symptoms and the look of the veins.1

The foam fills the vein and irritates its lining so the vein closes. Your body then absorbs it over time.2

Who it is for

  • Leaking great saphenous or accessory saphenous veins1
  • Visible, bulging varicose veins of the great saphenous system1
  • Aching, heavy or swollen legs from vein reflux1
  • Not for people with a polidocanol allergy or an active blood clot1

Not sure if this is right for you? A visit with Dr. Malik, with an on-site ultrasound, gives you a clear answer.
